Ulla-Hahn-Haus

The childhood home of the author Ulla Hahn is today the town’s literature center for children, young people and adults. The love of literature really comes to life here. The friendly atmosphere of the red brick house invites people to come together, interact and experience literature.

Once again, diversity plays a key role – the doors are open to everyone. Children, young people and adults from all backgrounds are welcome to join in and actively participate. The creative offerings are often multidisciplinary and include state-of-the-art digital media. Readings, workshops and courses stir up curiosity about books and encourage people's own literary creativity  - not only inside the house on Neustraße, but also in various other places around the city. The main focus is literary education for children and young people, with the team cooperating closely with the local education network and passing on knowledge through a wide range of training programs.

The Ulla-Hahn-Haus is also part of a vivid nation-wide network culture. By awarding two different literature prizes, the literature center contributes to the promotion of literature in German-speaking countries.
