Municipal Services Office (Bürgerbüro)


The Municipal Services Office, or Bürgerbüro, is the central contact point at Monheim City Hall. When you enter the building at Rathausplatz 2, register at the reception desk right at the entrance. "We recommend that all visitors come in by the main entrance – it's the shortest route and has disabled access", says Head of Department Marc Steven.

Some matters can be dealt with directly at the information desk in the main entrance, and if not, numbered waiting tickets are issued. Every desk at the Municipal Services Office provides the full range of services, which reduces waiting times.

  • General information about the City Hall and City Administration
  • Issue of brochures, waste collection calendars and vouchers for yellow bags for recyclable waste
  • Sale of waste disposal bags
  • Issue and receipt of TV license applications ("GEZ" applications)
  • Registration, de-registration and re-registration of dog ownership
  • Sale of replacement dog tax tags
  • Issue of application forms for parental leave benefit and under the Federal Training Assistance Act (Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz, BAFöG)
  • Issue of tax forms
  • Preparation of residence and registration certificates
  • Issue of personal tax identification numbers
  • Receipt of payments for municipal fees, taxes, charges and penalties
  • Application for and extension of disabled persons' identification
  • Display of information for public council and committee meetings
  • Receipt of mail for all administration services.

  • Processing, issue and handover of national identity cards, passports, temporary passports, children's passports (formerly children's identity card)
  • Receipt and forwarding of applications under aliens' law
  • Issue of confirmations of residence/registration
  • Certification of documents/signatures
  • Declarations of obligation
  • Naturalization
  • Blue parking permits for disabled drivers
  • Receipt of payment for municipal fees, taxes, charges, penalties, etc.
  • Issue and extension of fishing and Rhine fishing licenses
  • Drivers' license matters
  • Applications for the issue of police records
  • Applications for information from Central Business Records, Central Traffic Register
  • Citizens' registry
  • Lost and found office
  • Certificates for minors' examinations
  • Applications for maintenance benefit (conscripts and civilian servicemen)
  • Issue of personal tax identification numbers
