Leisure and Tourism

There are numerous compelling reasons to visit Monheim am Rhein, and one of the most noteworthy is its captivating location along the Rhine. Positioned between Cologne and Düsseldorf, this town boasts a history spanning centuries and is poised for a promising future!

Water and the wonders of nature, local recreational amenities and the flair of the old town, inviting restaurants, unusual museums, friendly people and some fantastic games and sports facilities – you can explore all these options in real life, but also online at [extern]www.monheim-entdecken.de/en (in English, German and Dutch).

Welcome to Monheim am Rhein!

Exploring Monheim am Rhein

Enjoying a vacation right on your own doorstep is a lot of fun, especially in Monheim am Rhein. Walking, cycling and rounding the day off with a delicious meal in the old part of town or while looking out over the Rhine... it's all possible here. Whether you’re alone, a couple, part of a group or even – most wonderfully – accompanied by children. Our video shows what you can experience in just a single day.

Modern old town flair and outdoor leisure activities

In the old part of town, restored half-timbered façades and bubbling fountains provide the perfect backdrop for enjoying both plain cooking and fine dining outdoors with great views of the landscape park. Besides that, the water playground, climbing frames, swings, seesaws and spinning tops, surrounded by soft sand and green lawns, invite you to play. At the heart of it all is a miniature edition of “Rogue’s Tower”, from which you can slide down onto the sand. What is more, there is a nature trail, a skater park and a tourist information center, where you can rent go-karts and bicycles. In our video, little figures from the world of model railroads explore the historical town center and the adjacent Rheinbogen Landscape Park.
