Support for families from the very beginning

With its diverse range of services offered within the framework of the Moki – Monheim for Children program,  the City, in cooperation with the AWO Bezirksverband Niederrhein (local branch of a German welfare association) supports families from the very beginning.

Education and support for children begin in the first days and weeks of their life. It is important to pick up small impulses early on to initiate the positive development of a child. In order to support parents in this task as partners, Monheim am Rhein offers holistic support for children in the areas of child development, health and language from [intern]the moment a child is born.

The staff from the “Moki under 3” team are not only the contact persons for expectant parents and families with children aged from birth to 3 years, but also organize educational offers, pre-natal courses, parent-child offers, offers for parents, themed weeks and courses revolving around matters concerning raising children, child development, and health and family.

The [intern]Moki cafés at Heinestrasse 6 (Monheim district) and Geschwister-Scholl-Strasse 57 (Baumberg district) are attractive meeting places for young parents. They offer information, courses and individual counselling by the Mo.Ki team.

Every newborn child in Monheim am Rhein receives a [intern]welcome visit, and their parents are informed and advised about important questions regarding holistic support, applications and financial assistance.
